It's time for the Whalers to move out of the kiddy pool that kept them contained for the first couple of weeks (it kept anyone from wandering too far from the pack). Yellow girl and Blue boy are the two that constantly heave themselves over the edge and make an escape. Joe and I are constantly putting them back into the pool, so this weekend they'll graduate up to a 3 1/2 sided divider that will give them a definite sleeping area under the heat lamp, plus a "patio" to explore. This also will be the beginning stages of house-breaking, as they will quickly learn to go to the "patio" to potty, and keep the "den" clean. Today they also began wagging their tails whenever I got near them. They also got their first real collars today. No more puppy yarn! In the left picture, Orange girl is in the back, and the front row is Green & Yellow girls, and Red boy (you can see Blue leaving the scene). In the right picture, Blue has been placed back in the pool and is one the right side of the puppy pile. Everyone else is in the same location. January 8, 2007 We made the first trip outside today! Some of us liked it better than others out in the cold. It was tough getting pictures of them because they keep running up to my feet (that is an exaggeration...really fast stumbling is more accurate) The pups will start on "puppy mash" today. Green girl and Blue boy went off exploring after a couple of minutes, Orange and Yellow investigated, but didn't go too far, and Red boy was fascinated with the golf cart...he spent the whole time sniffing all the places he could reach.
